Happy Birthday, Inkosana Lodge!
25 years ago almost to the day, Edmund Salomons startet his Inkosana Lodge & Trekking on a patch of grassland within view of the highest peaks of the Drakensberg mountains in South Africa. Being a mountain lover and keen hiker Ed startet to cater for people, that share his passion for peaks by building up a lodge, that today serves as an ideal starting and ending point for excursions into the Ukahlamba mountain range in kwa Zulu Natal near the border to Lesotho. Ukahlamba is a Zulu word meaning "The Barrier of Spears" and the mountains are a protected Unesco World Heritage Site. They are great for hiking, but are also great to look at....from the beautiful indigenous gardens of Inkosana Lodge!
SafariScout-owner Beate Gernhuber spent about a year at Inkosana Lodge. She discovered her interest in hiking, learnt some of Inkosana's kitchen secrets and calls the lodge her second home.
